General information

What is WorldChat?

WorldChat is a free application that allows you to make international calls at the best price to both landlines and mobiles from the USA to any country.

Why should I use WorldChat?

With WorldChat you will have the best rates for any international destination. It is simple to use, with high quality calls. In addition, you do not need to have a data rate or Wifi.

Is it available for my phone?

WorldChat is available for iPhone (iOS 9 and later versions) and Android phones (Android 6.0 and later).

Can I download and use the app on my iPad or tablet?

The WorldChat Mobile App is designed to be used with a device that can make and receive phone calls and has a phone number. Based on these requirements, the app could be used on an Android tablet that has a SIM card with an active mobile phone service plan. In the App Store, the app is not available for download to any iPad or iPod, since those devices do not have mobile phone capability.

Can I use WorldChat as a user of any telephony operator?

Yes, the application is available to anyone with a USA mobile network. There may be a charge to call the local access number. Please check the charges for calls to local numbers with your mobile network provider.

Registration and installation

How can I download WorldChat?

To download the WorldChat app, visit the Google Play Store or App Store and type “WorldChat” in the search bar.

How do I register with WorldChat?

Registering with WorldChat is quick and easy. Open the app, it will ask you to enter your email address, name, and create a password for your profile. You will be prompted to send a verification code via SMS to your device and enter 6 digit code to complete your registration. You can now enter the App and start making your calls.

I try to register but I can not. Why?

In case the registration process fails, please check that the phone number and device verification code entered are correct. Contact support at support@worldchatapp.com if you are unable to complete the registration process.

My app does not work Why?

There are several reasons why your app may be failing.
Please, remove the application from your Smartphone, reboot the device and download WorldChat again from the App Store or Google Play.
If this does not solve the problem, please contact us by sending an e-mail to support@worldchatapp.com including the following information:\n
\n- Smartphone model.
\n- Operating system version.
\n- WorldChat app version which is located at the bottom of the Splash screen when the app first launches.
\n- Screenshot with the error message.
\n- A small description of the problem.

Calls

Who can I call from WorldChat?

You can call any international phone, both fixed and mobile, in more than 60 countries. To see all destinations and rates, please click the Check Rates button on the main screen or visit https://worldchatapp.com/en/call-rates/. Remember that WorldChat is only available for international calls.

How do I make a call?

To make calls you only have to press the Call Contact or Keypad button from your WorldChat app. You can select any contact from the contacts on your phone, or you can dial a phone directly from the application’s keyboard.

Will my number be displayed on the recipient’s screen?

If you have caller id activated on your device the receiver of the call can see your number. However, blocking your caller id can result in the Worldchat system not matching your device number to an account, which can cause your calls to fail.

Do I need to be connected with Wi-Fi or data to make a call?

No! You can make calls with WorldChat without your phone being connected to the internet through a data rate or Wi-Fi.

Can I use WorldChat abroad to make roaming calls?

No. At the moment you can only make calls when you are in the USA.

Payments / Credit

How do I recharge my credit / balance?

You can top up your balance / credit by credit or debit card. You only have to select the amount you want to recharge ($ 5, $ 10 or $ 20) and enter your card information. Once the payment is made, your new balance / credit will be available in your WorldChat account.

Can I recharge without a credit or debit card?

No, we only accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, and Diners Club. If you need help to recharge, do not hesitate to contact us by clicking on the “Contact us” button in the app or by sending an email to our support team support@worldchatapp.com and we will be happy to help.

How can I request a refund for a recharge?

If you have recharged by mistake or have any problem with a payment, do not hesitate to contact us through the “Contact us” button in the app or by sending an email to our support team support@worldchatapp.com. Remember that we do not refund recharges after 90 days, consumed / partially enjoyed, obtained through promotional codes or similar.

Can I automatically recharge my balance / credit?

Of course, you can enable the option “Automatic Recharge” during the recharge/checkout process.  You can update your Automatic Recharge settings by selecting “Settings” from the menu and then selecting Auto Recharge. The app will detect if your balance / credit is less than the amount you have specified and will automatically recharge at the amount you have selected so you allows have a balance to place calls.

Does my balance / credit expire?

No, your balance does not expire.

Will WorldChat store my personal data or those of the card?

We will only save your billing information if you select the option to save your credit card information during checkout, or you select the auto recharge option during checkout.  Your credit card information is encrypted with SSL when a payment is made, and is encrypted in our database if you choose to store your information with us. We only save your account data at your request so you can facilitate the use of the application, but we will not make improper use of the information you provide, you can review our Privacy Policies and Terms of use of the App, which can be found by pressing the menu icon in the app.

What do I do if my recharge is denied?

If your payment is rejected we advise you to try again by verifying that the data entered is correct and that you have sufficient funds in your account / bank associated with that card. If the payment is rejected several times, please contact us through the “Contact us” button in the app or by sending an email to our support team support@worldchatapp.com We will be happy to help you! Remember that we accept any VISA, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, and Diners Club.

What countries can I call with WorldChat? And at what price?

With WorldChat you can call almost anywhere in the world you want, always at the best price. You can see all the available destinations and the price per minute in the “Check Rates” section of the menu of your app or in the “Rates” section of our website https://worldchatapp.com/en/call-rates/.

Will the minutes of my voice rate be used when calling with WorldChat?

The minutes of your local rate will be used to convert your international call to a local one, so if you have a flat rate of voice calls you will only pay the rate that appears in WorldChat.

Do I have to pay a monthly fee?

No, you do not have to pay a monthly fee or anything like that. Only the amount of the calls will be deducted. WorldChat is as simple as it is transparent: no subscriptions or permanence, no small print or unexpected expenses.

Will the person you call with WorldChat have to pay for?

The person you are calling will not be charged at all, except that their voice rate specifies otherwise.

How to get minutes and free credit/balance

How can I get free minutes?

Just by downloading the app / register you can enjoy $1 free to call any international destination. This way you can be sure of the quality and unbeatable price of calls with WorldChat.

How can I get more minutes or free balance?

You can get more free credit / balance by sharing WorldChat with your family and friends. In the “Refer a Friend” section you will find different ways to send them the app and, once they register and recharge the app, you will get $1 completely free. This amount will be added to your balance / credit soon after your friends first recharge. Remember that to receive this bonus it is necessary that your friend has registered the app and recharged with a credit card.

How do I share WorldChat with my family and friends?

Using the different social buttons you will find in the “Refer a friend” section / section and share the app via Whatsapp, Facebook, Twitter, e-mail, and SMS. Once you have selected the medium through which you will share WorldChat, you can send or post a link. Each time one of your contacts reloads for the first time, WorldChat will give you $ 5 so you can enjoy calling your loved ones. There is no limit, the more friends join WorldChat, the more credit / balance you will get!

Manage your account

What happens to my account if I change my mobile device? Will I lose my balance / credit?

Your WorldChat account is linked to your phone number, so if you change your device you only have to download the application again and you can continue enjoying the balance / credit that you have left.

What if I change my phone number? Would I lose my balance / credit?

If you change your phone number go to the Settings option in the menu and select “Account” to update your Worldchat account phone number.

What happens if I change carrier? Can I keep my remaining balance?

As you have registered with a phone number that has not changed, when you download and re-enter WorldChat you can enjoy the balance / credit / minutes not consumed before making the company portability.

How do sub-accounts work?

The sub-accounts have the same functions as a normal account, the only difference being that the Balance / credit depends on the main account. If a sub-account is canceled, the balance / credit will still belong to the main account.
